Colombia
Colombia has everything one would hope to experience--glorious mountains, verdant forests, beautiful beaches, and exceptionally kind people full of life. We spent 17 days traveling through Medellín, Jardín, Guatapé, the northern mountains and beaches of Magdalena State, and Cartagena de Indias. We barely began. I hope people release any outdated ideas of what they think this country is and see for themselves its extraordinary beauty.

lily pads
While walking over a low bridge at the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center I noticed these decaying lily pads emerging from and reposing beneath the surface. The late afternoon sun cast dramatic shadows over gentle ripples and they undulated in dreamlike movement.
